The autistic way
Written on 28th Dec 2013 by Alex Lowery
I see the world through different eyes,
When someone dies I do not cry,
I flap with joy because someone I know is,
Now in heaven,
When you change the tins in the kitchen,
I feel like something is missing,
You say they were rusty,
I think they were just right,
When I make a mistake,
I feel everyone must judge me,
And think I am stupid,
Yet you think no one notices,
When we are late,
You want me to hurry,
But I want to get everything right,
It takes time,
You say people judge by the clothes I wear,
I do not understand this,
Why can’t you judge on what I do,
I hate to tell a lie,
You say it’s good manners to lie in some cases,
I accept all people,
But some people can’t accept my stimming,
Or lack of eye contact,
I try to learn to behave in a way that you will accept,
But you never seem to understand me,
Give me a chance and I will show you a better way,
You will see beauty where you saw none,
And happiness where there was only boredom,
Come and understand what it means to be autistic.

Some very good comments there Alex. it is difficult how some people judge others in different ways. no two of us are the same.
No two of us are the same, would be a boring world if we were.
It jolly well would be boring if we were all the same!
