DSC_0226Christmas gift ideas, special offers and live demonstrations will be among the surprises in store for people with disabilities, elderly, their families, carers and friends at The Mobility Access Roadshow in Wrexham on Saturday, November 22.
Wrexham Volkswagen will transform its showroom to accommodate the Roadshow which will be full of great ideas, information and help for anybody who is disabled. From arthritis and autism, to people with a total loss of mobility, there will be something there to interest everyone.
The Roadshow isn’t just about adults and parents and disabled children can watch the fun with wheelchair basketball demonstrations taking place throughout the day. There will be opportunities to try out a tandem which can be rented free of charge, along with information about pull-alongs for the children. Another highlight will be cookery demonstrations which make cooking a less arduous task for disabled and elderly people, enabling them to be more independent. Our demonstrator, Shirley, has even promised to make you some lemonade!
Come and meet Alex Lowery, who has autism and at 21 years of age is a public speaker and authority on autism. Alex will be there from 3.00pm to 4.00pm.
There will also be plenty of advice and information from vehicle adaptations specialists, a national organisation for disabled motorists and Wrexham’s own Carers Service. With everyday living aids, exercise equipment, relaxation regimes, a working lift, neurorehabilitation technology, functional electrical stimulation and specialist computer games for visitors to try the exhibition covers an exceptional range of help and support.
This community-orientated event will begin at 11.00am, when the Mayor of Wrexham Cllr Alan Edwards will officially open the exhibition. Admission and on-site parking are free, with complementary refreshments available until 4.00pm when the exhibition closes.
The Mobility Access Roadshow is open to everyone and will take place at Wrexham Volkswagen’s car showroom in the Rhosddu Industrial Estate, Rhosrobin, Wrexham LL11 4YL. If you wish to register an interest in attending, or need any further information, please contact Maralyn on 01992 503129 or you can just turn up on the day.
