In honour of mothers day – A funny story my mum and I
Written on 13th Mar 2015 by Alex Lowery
I have autism and I am a Youth Patron for Ambitious about autism. At the last Youth Council, it was arranged for all the Youth Patrons (including me) to go to Pizza expresss for lunch. Just as we were leaving, I thought I should tell my mother that we were leaving for lunch, but I didn’t know where she was, and everyone was leaving so fast that I didn’t have enough time to think about what I should do. I just asked the person in charge if my mum could join us for lunch, and after being told she could I texted her saying we were in the Pizza place. However, the problem was she didn’t know where the Pizza express was. I just naturally assumed she did without having evidence. She eventually had to just eat somewhere else. This happened due to a lack of understanding.
