Here is a brilliant quote from Laura Tisonick describing the difference between those with ‘High Functioning autism’ and those with ‘Low Functioning autism’.

  1. Thank you Laura, your quote is simple yet spot on! This often misunderstood condition is still squeezed into a stereotype by non autistic people. how we change this I am unsure, well, without a lot of massive changes in education for a start. We are a society of tests and budgets, criteria has to be met to receive funding for extra support in classes and home. so the need to box autism into a one size fits all means others can assess it and then pinpoint the funds and levels of funding to an individual. so frustrating…if it is ok i will post your quote on my website .
