A lighthearted story about somone with anxiety in a shop. This story was written by Esther Lowery.

“This is ridiculous, Sandy. You’re going shopping, not planning a murder.”

“So?”

“So, you do not need to complete surveillance, know exactly where everything is, and have an attack plan or a backup attack plan. You just need to walk into the shop, with a basket, get your items, pay for them, and then leave. It’s easy!”

“But what if I get lost in the shop. Or take longer than I intended. Or mistakenly walk through the alarm system with my items still on alert. Or walk into someone’s trolley and die.”

“None of those things will happen! And even if they did, it’s not the end of the world.”

“It would be the end of my world. Particularly the last one.”

“The last one is actually impossible, Sandy.”

“No, it isn’t.”

“Yes, it is. Look, why don’t I come with you. I can protect you from the trolley.”

“Pft. The trolley wouldn’t kill me. The serial killer behind it would.”

“What? ! Why would a serial killer be in the shop anyway?”

“I don’t know. I’m not the criminal mastermind here.”

“But…”

“I’m going now. Keep an eye on the security cameras I set up.”

After the shop visit

“Sandy? You okay?”

“Not a serial killer, you told me. You’re being silly, you said.”

“So?”

“So?!  This is so! See? Serial killer arrested at Tesco. I was just there. There are serial killers, I tell you!”

“Sandy….”
